Download the wallet and write down your recovery phrase

The app gives you a 12-word recovery phrase. Write it on paper and keep it somewhere private. It is the only way to restore your wallet.

Visit an America Bitcoin ATM

Use the ATM finder in the app or our ATM locations page to pick a kiosk. Bring cash and a phone number for verification.

Scan your wallet QR code and insert cash

Tap “Receive” in the app, hold the QR code up to the kiosk scanner, insert your bills, and confirm. Your bitcoin is sent to your wallet.

Please read before you use any bitcoin wallet

  • Only you hold your keys. America Bitcoin ATM cannot recover your wallet, recovery phrase, PIN, or bitcoin if you lose access. There is no “forgot password” for a self-custody wallet.
  • Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed. Once bitcoin is sent, it cannot be recalled by us or by anyone else.
  • Never send bitcoin to someone who contacted you first. Government agencies, utility companies, tech support, and romantic partners you have only met online do not ask for bitcoin. If someone is coaching you through a purchase, stop and call us before you insert cash.
  • Never share your recovery phrase or scan a QR code someone sent you. Your wallet address should come from your own app on your own phone.

Common questions

Do I have to use this wallet at your kiosks?

No. Our kiosks work with any bitcoin wallet that can display a receiving QR code. We built this one so our customers have a simple, trustworthy option.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Install the app on a new device and restore it with your 12-word recovery phrase. Without that phrase, the wallet and its bitcoin cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.

Can America Bitcoin ATM see or move my bitcoin?

No. Your keys are created and stored on your device. We have no access to your funds.
