Bitcoin ATM Florida: Where to Buy, What It Costs, and the New 2027 Rules

If you live in Florida and want to turn cash into Bitcoin without linking a bank account, a Bitcoin ATM is the most direct way to do it. This guide covers where our Florida kiosks are, what a purchase really costs, and the new state rules that start on January 1, 2027.

We’ll be plain about the trade-offs. A kiosk costs more than an online exchange. A Bitcoin transaction can’t be undone once it’s on the blockchain. And Florida reports more kiosk scam losses than most states.

What you’ll pay at a Florida kiosk

A Bitcoin ATM costs more than the price you see on an exchange app. That gap is the retail margin for in-person, cash-to-Bitcoin service. Here is the actual number.

At America Bitcoin ATM, the typical all-in cost runs 15–25% above the spot price of Bitcoin, depending on the machine and any active promotion. Here is what that looks like in dollars:

Cash you insert Cost at 15% Cost at 25%
$100 about $15 about $25
$500 about $75 about $125
$1,000 about $150 about $250
$2,000 about $300 about $500

An online exchange usually costs a few percent. The kiosk is the more expensive route: you pay extra for speed, cash, and not needing a bank account. If none of those matter to you, an exchange will likely be cheaper.

Florida does not cap Bitcoin kiosk fees, and the new 2027 law doesn’t either. What protects you is the confirmation screen. Before you press Confirm, it shows the cash you put in, the Bitcoin you’ll get, the rate, and the fees. Nothing sends until you tap. You can cancel at any point before that.

Promo code 25BATM takes 25% off our margin — not off the Bitcoin price, and not off the Bitcoin network fee. Offers can change or vary by location. Call (888) 437-7582 if you need help using it.

Florida’s new Bitcoin ATM law: what changes on January 1, 2027

Florida passed a Bitcoin kiosk law in 2026. It was signed on June 26, 2026, and most of it takes effect on January 1, 2027. Until then, Florida has no kiosk-specific limit or refund rule. Here is what changes, in plain terms:

Rule Today Starting Jan 1, 2027
Daily limit, new customers (first 7 days) No state limit $2,000 per day, across all of that company’s kiosks
Daily limit, existing customers No state limit $10,000 per day
Refund if you were scammed No state rule Full refund of your first transaction, if you qualify (see below)
Fraud warning on screen Not required by the state Required before every transaction
Receipt Not required by the state Paper or electronic, with fees, rate, wallet, and transaction ID
Fee cap None Still none
Operator registration Not required for kiosks specifically Every kiosk company must register with the state

What the refund rule covers. If a scammer talked you into your very first transaction with a kiosk company, you can get that transaction refunded in full. You have to tell the company and a police or government agency within 60 days, and give the company proof, such as a police report or a notarized statement. The company then has 72 hours to refund you. It only covers that first transaction. Anything after it isn’t covered by the state rule.

What it means at our kiosks. From January 1, 2027, the state caps apply to every Florida operator, including us. Our usual $29,500 verified daily limit won’t apply in Florida after that date.

The state agency that oversees money businesses is the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, which will run the new kiosk registration. You can look up our federal registration and our state licenses on NMLS Consumer Access (NMLS ID 2521734).

Federal rules apply at every America Bitcoin ATM in Florida, today and after 2027. We are a registered Money Services Business — FinCEN MSB #31000292649858, NMLS ID #2521734. That means we must:

  • Check who you are. Phone verification on every purchase, and government-issued photo ID as amounts go up. See Do You Need ID to Use a Bitcoin ATM?
  • Watch for suspicious activity and report it to the federal government, including any time someone moves more than $10,000 in cash in a day.
  • Keep records of every transaction.
  • Run a formal anti-money-laundering program with a named compliance officer.

A kiosk advertising “no ID” isn’t following those rules. Treat that as a warning sign.

Until the state limits start, how much you can buy depends on how much you verify. Higher tiers need a government photo ID — a driver’s license, passport, or green card.

Verification What you provide Limit through Dec 31, 2026
Unverified Phone number and text code About $2,000 lifetime
Verified Phone plus government photo ID Up to $29,500 per day

How to use a Bitcoin ATM in Florida, step by step

  1. Bring the right things. U.S. bills (the machine doesn’t make change), a government photo ID, your phone, and a Bitcoin wallet you set up. Never use a QR code someone texted or emailed you.
  2. Verify your phone number. The kiosk texts you a code. Enter it.
  3. Read the on-screen warnings. If someone on the phone tells you to skip them, hang up. That is the clearest sign of a scam.
  4. Scan your wallet address. Open your wallet’s “receive” QR code. Check that the address on screen matches your app.
  5. Insert cash, one bill at a time.
  6. Review the total — cash in, Bitcoin out, rate, fees, and destination address.
  7. Tap Confirm. Some new-customer or higher-risk purchases go into a short Hold and Release review before they’re sent.
  8. Keep your receipt. The transaction ID is how you, and we, look up the send later. Under the 2027 rules, it’s also what you’ll need for a refund claim.

Scam awareness: read this before you go

Kiosk fraud in Florida is real and it is expensive. In 2025, Floridians filed 1,213 complaints with the FBI about scams involving cryptocurrency kiosks, with about $32.8 million in reported losses. Nationally, the FBI counted more than 13,400 complaints and over $388 million in losses. More than half the complaints came from people over 50.

The pattern is almost always the same. A caller claims to be the IRS, a sheriff’s deputy, tech support, or your bank, keeps you on the phone, and sends you a QR code. Florida’s new warning screen says it directly: if a stranger sent you to this machine, stop.

  • No real agency will ask you to pay a fine, bail, back taxes, or an “account freeze” in Bitcoin at a kiosk. Not one.
  • Once a transaction is on the blockchain, it cannot be reversed. There is no chargeback. Before 2027, Florida has no rule requiring anyone to refund you. After 2027, the state refund covers only a first transaction.
  • If you think you’re being scammed, stop and call (888) 437-7582 right away. If the send is still in Hold and Release, we may be able to stop it. That window is real but short. After the send, we can preserve records and help investigators, but we can’t pull Bitcoin back.
  • Then report it to your local police or sheriff and at IC3.gov.

Frequently asked questions about Bitcoin ATMs in Florida

Are Bitcoin ATMs legal in Florida?

Yes. Florida regulates kiosks rather than banning them. Starting January 1, 2027, operators must register with the state and follow new daily limits, warning, receipt, and refund rules.

What is the Bitcoin ATM limit in Florida?

Through 2026, there’s no state limit; ours is up to $29,500 per day once verified. From January 1, 2027, Florida caps new customers at $2,000 per day for their first 7 days and everyone else at $10,000 per day.

How much does a Florida Bitcoin ATM charge?

At America Bitcoin ATM, typically 15–25% above spot all-in. On a $500 purchase that’s roughly $75–$125. The exact figure is on screen before you confirm. Florida does not cap it.

Can I get a refund if I was scammed at a Florida Bitcoin ATM?

Starting January 1, 2027, yes for your first transaction with that company, if you report it to the company and to police within 60 days and provide proof. Before then, there’s no state refund rule. Either way, call us at (888) 437-7582 right away. If the purchase is still in Hold and Release, we may be able to stop it.

Is there a 24-hour Bitcoin ATM in Florida?

Yes. Our kiosks at Oakhurst Rally in Seminole and Daytona Laundromat in South Daytona are listed as open 24 hours. Check the listing first, since hours follow the host store.

Is a Bitcoin ATM the same as a bank ATM?

No. It doesn’t connect to your bank account, and it costs far more than a bank ATM withdrawal. It’s closer to a vending machine that sells Bitcoin for cash.
